My husband has a habit of not answering certain questions truthfully. Sometimes it is out of forgetfulness...ahem, such as 'forgetting' to mention that his best friend's wife's best friend is his ex-girlfriend. Other times, it is on purpose, like today when I went out to check the mail and encountered a big fat Huntsman spider inside (pics to follow). When I ran inside to tell him, I knew he already knew what had happened. I truly thought perhaps it was fake, but as he later told me, it's been living there for years! Aside from the initial fright, it actually wasn't that bad. I mean, it was furry, and furry animals are usually quite cute right? Too tired to write much more. Steve and I have been very busy looking for jobs, getting the house in order, etc. so more later.
UGH that is still one of my biggest fears. And funny you should mention the mail... today I was getting the mail out, and I was actually afraid to reach in the box to pull it out for fear of creepy crawlies inside. Once there was a dead cockroach in there and now with your huntsman story, I'll forever be fearful to get the mail!
ReplyDeleteAs long as they don't come in the house. Then they're toast!
ReplyDeleteYeah Steve says he just puts them outside when he finds them in the house as they do kill the nastier spiders. I'm not to happy about having one resident in the mailbox. I think Steve will be getting the mail for a while until I get used to the idea.
ReplyDeleteThese things come into the house??
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately...
ReplyDeletewelcome to australia. we have more things that can kill you (or just generally freak you out) per capita than anywhere in the world
ReplyDeleteAs the Bill Bryson book advised, which my friend Steveg insisted I read as soon as he found out I was datign an Australian 2+ years ago. What a way to encourage me that moving to Australia was what I wanted to do;)
ReplyDeleteYeah, we wanted to keep you for ourselves!! :-)
ReplyDeleteSo, are these Huntsman beasties dangerous then? I would have guessed not from steve's reaction, but then he's Australian and therefore has the national trait of being pretty laid back about deadly things it seems!
Must re-read the Bryson book - if I ever find it again as it is packed away in a box at the moment before we move.
Cheers
Steve
Nope not dangerous just scary as! I've been wanting to re-read the book too as it's been a while.
ReplyDeleteHope the move is going/goes well!
