Insomnia

If only I could sleep the way kids do:( I’ve been up very very late tossing and turning about 3 nights this week, I think. My eyes sting today. Need to do something about how I respond to stress, as I’m stressing out over the possibility of stressing out and keeping myself awake worrying about not getting enough sleep. It’s silly, as the work is challenging, but not impossible. I need some positive vibes or something…

Perhaps you need to finally take time to go to one of the yoga classes and learn enough to do something relaxing when you feel yourself getting stressed or unable to sleep. Most classes involve some deep breathing which would be helpful for both destressing and sleeping. Just a thought.:)

I was gonna ask about the yoga. Its a good idea to return to it and gets some focus as well as stress-relief. Sounds like your insomnia has to do with your living situation as well. If you cant get to class, do you have DVD’s. Also, hows your room? Can you do more to make it your inner sanctum?

Well, there are yoga classes at the uni on Fridays, which I plan to start attending this week, especially since it’s included in the cost of the gym membership.

I’ve also got some valerian tea, which helps me to relax at night, and I’m trying very hard to take my course leader’s suggestion to worry about only one thing at a time, and when I start to think of everything that worries me, to try and push those thoughts away, as it’s unproductive as well as frustrating.

I sometimes just light a candle or two and watch a dvd in bed (getting through the third harry potter movie this week) for a 1/2 an hour or so to relax and enjoy some chill out time.
