Ouch:(

Well, York was fantastic, but walking around in the cold and talking all day has led to a worse cough and I literally can’t raise my voice above a whisper without serious effort. I’m a big baby when sick. Can someone please send me some virtual soup, jello and kleenex:(

Here’s hoping youre intending to spend Sunday in silence and drinking much lemon teas. I’ll be doing much the same thing, only I’ll be working. Hmmm… dont you have another paper? I guess we’ll both be working.

Nope, all the papers are done, thank god, so I will be on a tea diet spending most of my day in bed.

modified to add: steveg is bringing me soup! nothing like having two friends (steveg and his wife here…i think most of you know who they are) nearby who i can call when i’m sick and needing some chicken noodle:)

Yeah, I have had 3 big bowls of soup with crackers today, some oreos, and loads of tea, plus a nice steamy shower with all my Lush products;) cough seems to be getting a bit better actually. trying the whole gargling with saltwater thing as well. will skip uni tomorrow, as its only action learning, and hopefully better by tuesday. man, if i ramble on like this now, can you imagine me talking about my ailments as an old woman??

Hahaha - Well that made me laugh (really laugh too!) No worries Susan, I am sure that if we needed you for anything, you too would do the same - glad you liked the goodies. Lets just hope the doctor gives you something to help when he comes over later.

Will fetch the next “care Package” this evening after work

Thanks again:) Glad I could give you a laugh at least. I’m still weirded out by the dr. making house calls, but I am grateful. Now let’s hope he’s willing to give me some drugs so I can go to classes tomorrow! And yes, you would for sure be able to count on me if you needed anything….and, ahem, you’ll be old sooner, so ya just might some day;) Not that you have to wait for then. Gee, and here I was, wanting to take you guys out for a meal and you end up doing for me…again.

“and, ahem, you’ll be old sooner”

Ooooooooo Do I need to bring you a saucer of milk too! Hahahahaha

Only Kidding - as you are, of course, correct - at least you didn’t say “already Old” hehehe

lol:) knew that would get a reaction.

well, had my first ‘housecall’. interesting…and no drugs. as i suspected, they are much less likely to dole them out here.

Yup - Docs here will only prescribe if they feel you actually need them, rather than on demand - I imagine it takes a bit of getting used to if you are not born here, but I find the system seems to work well enough.

Yeah, we be used to telling them what to do;) Guess, though, ya’ll aren’t run by the drug companies over here.

Bugger—I’m actually really annoyed that I am missing classes this week. Feeling guilty while coughing up my lungs. How is it, I ponder, that one can cough so loudly yet still be unable to speak (scratches head)?

Modified to add: Yippee! There was no Research Methods today (one of the modules), which means I only missed one class, not two. Now you know if I was well I would be complaining that 1) there was no notice given (very poor customer service!) and 2) that I wanted 1/18th of my money back (we have 36 hrs of class time…3x 12 wks and this was 2 hrs). It is interesting that education is the one product you pay for that you can not make any type of customer complaint on and get any type of satisfaction. You are just SOL if the teaching is poor, the teacher misses classes, etc. And despite the fact that you’re paying, you have to provide them with an end product. Just rambling thoughts.

And on another note, Steve loaned me Roots. Have watched episodes 1-4 since last night. It’s addictive. Remember Rog (sp?) from What’s Happening…I was so excited to see him in it, even if it was just for a bit:)
