"Whereas the tourist generally hurries back home at the end of a few weeks or months, the traveler, belonging no more to one place than the next, moves slowly, over periods of years from one part of the earth to another." -Paul Bowles

Very cool
Didn't realize (or maybe forgot, knowing my memory) that Kafka was from Prague.
well there's plenty to choose from on my shelves downstairs. maybe try the metamorphosis...or choose for yourself? i don't know about it being 'beyond you', but i'm not sure you'll like it, as you don't tend towards existentialist lit. give it a try though. have you gotten around to lolita yet, btw?
Nope, haven't read it as I kindof forgot about it. You don't have it in your collection as I recall, right? But, will pick up Metamorphosis and give it a try.

It's news to me, but then I know absolutely nothing about Kafka. Should I read something? What would you recommend? Or is he someone who's beyond me?

Nope, I believe it was gotten rid of when I cleaned out my books a couple of years back. Should be easy enough to find at the library though.
